Jackie Wurm, Founder
If you ask Jackie how she got started in the business, she’ll tell you, “It was an accident.” She felt it was her job to help her husband, Dan, in his farm operation and take care of her 2 children, Felicia and Travis. In the fall of 1993, when harvest season was over, Jackie decided to do temporary work through an agency until spring when she would quit and help her husband again.
Jackie’s first assignment was working for a company called WML Secretariate, owned by Dr. Ashley Whitesell and managed by his son, Tim. It was a secretarial service which also provided copying and laminating services. Since she had previously worked for Albinson Paperworx in Bloomington, she was really familiar with the duties. When asked if she would accept a full-time position with the company, she said she wouldn’t be able to commit to full-time because she needed to help her husband with his farm operation during spring and fall. Well…Tim offered to give her the spring and fall off. How could she pass that up?
After about 8 months, the Whitesell’s had decided to sell the secretarial part of their business to enable them to devote their time to Whitesell Medical Locums.
When they approached Jackie, she was excited to go for it. While working in Bloomington, she had wished she could provide the same service in the Buffalo area. Now, the opportunity was there, and it just seemed like it was meant to be. Even though she received a few discouraging head shakes, in October 1994, she took over the business and changed the name to The Copy Shop of Buffalo.
Through the years, The Copy Shop transitioned from copying, secretarial and package shipping to graphic design, digital printing, offset printing and bulk mail services. The clientele transitioned from consumers to businesses and organizations. In April 2007, Jackie changed the company name to IntegriPrint, Inc.
Now, as IntegriPrint, the business continues to grow. The products and services are constantly changing to meet the needs and demands of businesses and organizations. Although the services and capabilities expand and evolve, Jackie’s philosophy is unchanging. She still believes that hiring great people, treating customers the way she wants to be treated and having fun are the keys to keeping a business alive and healthy.
